Talk about busy

This last week has been very busy. Nick and I took last Tuesday off, so we could get some stuff done around the house and instead we get a phone call from Tim saying Kelahna was in the hospital and needed surgery. They asked if Nick and I could take care of the rest of the kids while they were there and of course we said yes. We spent two days with the kids up at their house, just playing and having a good time. Then Thursday morning I got a phone call from my mom saying that my dogs were fighting and so were Dustin and my dad. What was I going to do, I was up in Bonney Lake handling Nick's family stuff and everything in my family was going haywire. We ended up having Karen, Amy's mom take the kids for the weekend, while I tried to fix some of the stuff at my house. We had a fun weekend with Mom, Jeremy, Dustin and Stephanie. On Sunday we went and picked up the kids again to stay the night at our house. That was so much fun. We invited the neighbors over and roasted marshmallows. The kids played all evening together. Then on Monday all the kids played all day together at the neighbors house. I am so glad everyone got along well, since my house is so kid friendly. :) We met Amy to drop the kids off, because Kelahna was finally out of the hospital!

Finally, Nick and I were on somewhat of a normal schedule. I got some sewing done and finished up my Stash Busting SWAP and sent that off. As soon as she receives I will show pictures. Now onto the I <3 Sewing SWAP. I got a message from my partner and she said that what she made me might win a blue ribbon at her county fair, so she is going to enter it. That would be really cool if she did win. Then once that one is finished I will be able to do my Fill a Box SWAP, which I am really excited to be able to stuff a box full of stuff that I don't use and receive stuff I will use. Then I can sign up for more SWAPs, I love them so much.

Today I think I will get all my stuff ready to hopefully finish the I <3 Sewing SWAP by this weekend. So, I Sew.

The Stresses of Life

Well this weekend was one of the busiest, most stressful weekends I have had in a long time. Saturday, Nick and I went to Tim and Amy's house for dinner. That was a lot of fun, just to hang out with the family with no real commitment. Then on Sunday, Nick and I lazed around for most of the day, then decided we wanted to go look into buying a house. We found one that we really loved, but we probably weren't going to afford it. On Monday we went and found out that we really couldn't afford the house I fell in love with, but found another that we liked. This house had a great floor plan, was a great size, it just didn't have a garage. We said yes anyway. Oops. I cried all night thinking of the mistake we made and how we really need a garage and an already landscaped piece of property. This morning we called our agent and asked if we could cancel the contract we signed, because of the lack of income I have. Now our plan is for me to get a job or two, save some money and wait for the market to get even better for us. We will keep looking but not right now. I don't want to get my hopes up again and still not be able to afford it. So those are the dramas of my weekend. Wow, all in a days work. This week Nick and I are going to focus on cleaning up our yard and decluttering our house, so when it is time for us to move, we are ready. I also need to find a job ASAP! So, I sew.

I love cake!!!

I really love cake and today I get to go with Stephanie to test wedding cake. YIPEE!! Then after that I get to go to Tim and Amy's ten year wedding anniversary party thing. They are going to renew their vows and have this big BBQ for their family and friends. It should be a lot of fun. I can't wait until Nick and I can celebrate our ten year wedding anniversary.

On another note, my dogs are not fighting, but Bits is looking pretty bad.DSCN0982September 2006-Nibbles and Bits (2) Here are the before and after pictures. Poor Bits' face is so swollen she looks like a marshmallow face. She has no definition left in her face at all. It makes me almost shed a tear to look at her. I hope she starts to feel and look better soon. I just can't stand it.

I have to go get ready to go, So, I sew.

Yeah for Project Runway!!!!!!!!!

So Project Runway Season 5 started last night. Unfortunately I was watching So You Think You Could Dance. I will be watching Project Runway today, so I will be able to catch up. I have been watching the past seasons the last couple of days, so I could catch up. I am so excited.

I did some sewing yesterday. Mostly just finishing up projects I started a long time ago.DSCN0981 DSCN0980 They are two little girl peasant shirts. I really love how easy these shirts are to make. They only take me about 1 hour start to finish to sew. And they don't take hardly any fabric. It takes about 1/2 a yard to make one size 2T shirt. I can make so many if I wanted, but there are lots of other things I want to make right now.

I  have been in a SWAP addict mood. I keep signing up for them. I am currently in 3 SWAPs right now and I have finished 2. I love them, I finally get to make stuff for people who not only understand what it takes to make this stuff, but they really show appreciation. There are very few people in my life who really appreciate the time and effort that it takes to make the things I do. Nick doesn't like that I sign up for all of these SWAPs because he says that it is too pricey to ship this stuff out, but it really isn't that bad. Especially because I get to make lots of new friends with the same creative outlook I have. I will definitely post what I have made for all of my SWAPs as soon as my partners get their stuff. Until then you will have to wait.

I have to go work on some stuff before I run all of my errands today. So, I Sew.

I love Lavender

800px-English_LavenderToday was a very busy day for me. For starters Stephanie and I went and did our first cardio workout together today. We were both very sweaty afterwards, which is good, right? Then we went to go and meet with the lady where she is getting married. I really liked the place, it was very pretty. After that we went out to Happy Teriyaki for lunch with my mom. Then a day of window shopping and roaming stores. Joanns, Barnes and Nobles, Walmart, and Home Depot. I finally found an English Lavender plant to put in my reading garden. You can always find Spanish Lavender, but English Lavender is a little more difficult. It is the only edible lavender, and I have been wanting to experiment with it, now I can. I love the way lavender smells, it is so beautiful and relaxing. That reminds me I need to grind up the Spanish Lavender that I dried so I can make some eye sachets to make people sleepy. Maybe tomorrow. So, I Sew.

Rainbow Falls

Nick and I went to Rainbow Falls State Park today. It is near Pe Ell, Rainbow Falls 7-14-2008 (14)which is about 25 miles from Chehalis. The park recently re-opened from the huge floods in November. I didn't know what to expect, but I definitely expected more I think. The park is still beautiful, but the river is not the same. You can really go swimming like you used to. There is no rope for jumping into the river and the waterfall is smaller. Not that is was very big, but it is definitely smaller. The flood ripped out the bridge that used to get you into the park. Now there is a completely different way to get to the park, takes a little longer, but that is ok. here are some pictures of where the bridge used to be and all the debris left from the bridge.

Nick and I also went to Millersylvania State Park to see what it was like. We are planning on taking Tristram and Balin there in August. We wanted to see if it was worth it. I think it is. There is camping, swimming, hiking and fishing. I don't think the boys will get bored.

Alison Swimsuit Burdastyle 7-14-2008Alison Swimsuit Burdastyle 7-14-2008 (8) Once we got home, I checked my e-mail to find that I got my new SWAP partner, for another SWAP I am in. Also I got an email from Burda Style with a new pattern for a retro style swimsuit. I checked it out and fell in love. So much so that I instantly made it. I love it!!!! There are a few things that I don't like about it, but I am going to try it again tomorrow with a different fabric and make some of those changes.

I got a lot done today. Hopefully my week will be just as productive. I have a super busy weekend coming up, so I will have to do anything I want to get done this week. So, I Sew.

Hmmmm.....

Well I am really tired and stressed. My dogs got into a huge fight with each other for the second time in 3 days. I just don't know what to do. Nibbles can't hardly walk her legs have such large wounds. Bits' face and head have so much blood on them I can't tell wear her wounds are. I wish I could read dog's minds, then I could knew why they are acting so strange. They never fight and now all of a sudden I can't pull them apart. My neighbor had to lasso Nibbles and yank her away from Bits. It was so sad for me. I feel like I can't even let them be together. Any advice out there let me know.

I did a lot of crocheting today. I finished a bag that I plan to felt and line with cotton. I also got half way done with a scarf I started over a year ago. I just sat and watched 27 Dresses and crocheted away. Once that is done, I will work on another scarf I also started over a year ago. Then I can work on projects that are new. Crocheting is so good for when you are watching television, it makes being lazy seem productive.

Well I am off to bed, to sleep in late tomorrow. YIPEE!!! So, I sew.

It is nice and cool today!

I figured since it isn't late yet I would post some of the projects I have worked on lately. Of course not my SWAP stuff yet, but as soon as my partner gets her stuff I will show it here.

I made a bunch of little kid clothes. I really enjoy make toddler size girl clothes. They are quick, easy and oh so cute. Here is some of the stuff I have made.

I love this skirt. It is gray corduroy and pink camo cotton. The yellow outfit is a peasant shirt and mini skirt made out of cotton. I already gave this outfit to Kelahna, she loves yellow!

This is my favorite outfit combo so far. I love the flexibility with the outfits. Wear them together or put them with other clothes already in baby's closet. I really hated the brown until I made this outfit, it looks so great with the leopard print.

Light Blue Ginham Baby Outfit (3) (Copy) Light Blue Ginham Baby Outfit (4) (Copy)

This is part of Kelahna's birthday present. I made this awhile ago, but I figure I would put it with all the other toddler clothes. I made the same set for Maribell, just in a different color. The shirt has an open tie back. Then there are coordinating shorts.

Pink-Flower Baby Dress (2) (Copy) Pink-Flower Baby Dress (Copy)

This dress was my first shot at a reversible style. Both of these fabrics were really lightweight, and see through, so I put them together to make a medium weight dress. I still have a lot of experimenting to go with reversible clothing, but I am enjoying the learning process.

Blue Swirl Baby Dress (Copy)

This is another dress for Kelahna's birthday. I also made Maribell one in a different color. This is the same as the other dress only not reversible. You can't really see the pattern on the fabric but it is a light blue swirl, that I thought looked like crayon scribbles. So cute!

Well there you have it. Some of my works. I can't wait to make enough stuff to start selling. I am hoping to have enough stuff to maybe do the local Christmas bazaar. I really have to get my butt in gear though. So, I Sew.

Sorry about my disappearance :(

Well I have been really busy trying to get some SWAPs done. Also trying to enjoy the summer! It is so nice lately that I don't want to spend too much time inside. I wish that I could take my sewing machine outside then I can do both happy things. I probably could take it outside, but I don't really have any good outlets to use.

I have had lots of fun learning how to wakeboard, working out and just lazing around. I am really sore from the first two, but the lazing around helps that a little.

I just got back from watching Hancock. What a great movie. Had a weird twist, but it was slightly predictable. Nick and I really enjoyed it. Tonight was the night to watch it too. There were so many people that I knew in the theater with us. I have never been to a movie where I was with so many friends.

I have lots of things to post, but right now I am too lazy to get up and get my camera. Sorry. Maybe another day I will put the newest projects up.

Well I think I am off to bed. I am really tired and I have to get up a little early so I can go workout with my mom and Stephanie. So, I sew!
